FUNG BUOYANT ABOUT ASIAN TOUR'S RETURN
With the resumption of the Asian Tour’s 2020-21 season tomorrow in Phuket, Nichols Fung is looking forward to a return to competition after a lengthy absence from tournament golf.

With just 1 start in the past 19 months at the European Tour’s Golf in Dubai Championship, Nicholas is eager to tee it up at this week’s Blue Canyon Phuket Championship. The US$ 1 Million Blue Canyon event is part of the Asian Tour’s Phuket series with the Laguna Phuket Championship being staged next week.
It is not only a return to competition and that of the Asian Tour that motivates Nicholas, but also a return to Thailand, the place of his maiden Asian Tour title. Winning the 2017 Queens Cup in Koh Samui, Nicholas is looking forward to drawing on past experience should he find himself in contention come Sunday.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Asian Tour just now, with the new partnership from LIV Golf Investments and the marquee events planned for 2022. I’m really looking forward to that but need to focus on these events and take it step by step. In any case, it’s great to be playing golf again” beamed Fung.
Nicholas is set to tee off at 7:25 local time on the Canyon Course at the Blue Canyon Country Club.
