Joakim always felt comfortable with balls sports, but it was watching Tiger Woods win The Open Championship that instilled a passion for the game of golf that continues to reverberate today.

 

A combination of talent, hard work and courage has transformed the life of Joakim who enjoys traveling and playing golf at the highest level. Born with Achondroplasia, Joakim is one of the world’s best disabled golfers, with a career high ranking of world number 3.

 

Joakim has amassed 35 disability titles from around the globe, including 4 straight Italian Opens during 2015-18 in addition to becoming a native Swedish Champion, European Champion, 2 times European Teams Champion and 2 times World Teams Champion.  

 

It is not only on the golf course that Joakim has found winning ways, his aptitude for driving change and promoting inclusivity within golf is encapsulated with a strong enthusiasm that has enabled him to become a formidable ambassador for disability golf.

 

Joakim is a past recipient of the Henrik Stenson Scholarship in Sweden and in 2020 contested Swedish Golf Tour’s qualifying school to obtain a playing category for 2021. His ambition to continue to impress and inspire.
